Description

Consumer of algae, green, brown and certainly in brush. Do not consume plants !!! Is not consumed by Botia Macracantha or by cichlids.

The Néritina Reclivata snail is a small snail of fresh water with a spiral shell of gray-green pale to light brown. Its shell can reach approximately 1.5 centimeters in diameter and is covered with fine streaks and irregular points.

The body of the snail is covered with fine sensitive tentacles which allow it to detect vibrations in the water and find its food. His mouth is equipped with two long horns to help grate the seaweed and plants he eats.

This snail is from West Africa and is commonly found in shallow rivers and lakes. It is considered an invertebrate snail with mobile shell, which means that it can move by using its muscular legs to propel itself into the water.

The Néritina Reclivata snail is also known for its ability to produce drool which can be used as a filter to protect its shell from algae and bacteria. This drool is also used to seal cracks and holes in its shell to protect it from predators.

Reproduction

Would only reproduce in savory water and probably not by freshwater aquarium.

The eggs are left on the aquarium window or on the plants discontinuously, in the form of a whitish pearl. They are to be recovered and placed in saltwater with Plankton Plus PHYTOPLANCTON for development (very slow).
